How to get started with the HACCP Plan builder (UK, IRE)?
Find out how to create your HACCP Plan with the help of our HACCP Plan builder in less than an hour.
Please note!
- All food businesses can use our 14-day free trial to create and view your HACCP plan. The full HACCP plan content will be available during the trial period, including all needed documents - Hazard Analysis, Critical Control Points, Flow Chart, SOPs, etc.
- The HACCP builder feature is available only on your desktop. Please use your laptop or iPad, not a phone. Also, it is not available in our app.
- You can download and print the HACCP plan any time after purchasing at least an annual payment for any of the packages. Annual payment includes access to your digital HACCP plan for the whole year. You can definitely improve your HACCP plan at any time and print it out whenever you need to.

Follow these steps to start creating your HACCP Plan:

Log in to FoodDocs.
- Answer simple questions about your business, like general info, workgroup, etc., until all red selections turn green.
Please note!
- It's important to make selections according to the specifics of your business because our software creates your HACCP Plan according to local regulations and similar companies' data.
- To save time, some fields are already filled by our AI-powered software according to other similar companies' data. We still encourage you to review the selections according to your business's specifics.
- General info is information about your business unit.
Here, choosing the right food business type is critical, whether production, food service, or retail. Once you have filled all questions out, press SAVE and move to the next step.
- Workgroup requires information about people who are responsible for concrete food safety-related tasks. You can write either name(s), the role(s), or even choose an outsourced service. Once you have filled all out, press SAVE and move to the next step.
- Process steps selection requires you to switch on all the relevant processes to your business.
- For example, if you need a HACCP plan for vacuum packaging, it's under temporary storage.
- If you need a HACCP plan for reduced oxygen packaging, it's under the packaging/labelling process step.
- If you have a process that is not listed, scroll down, and you'll see the ADD PROCESS button. Add your process manually and press SAVE.
- Once you have filled all sections, press SAVE and move to the next step.
- Produced/served/sold food includes the list of foods you sell. Mark all the food you serve or prepare in your business unit.
- For example, if you're a food service business that serves hamburgers, hot dogs, and kebabs, choose fast food.
- If you're a producer of pastries, like waffles, cookies, and cakes, choose bakery products.
- Once you have filled all out, press SAVE and move to the next step.
- Production volume includes the list of produced/served food you selected in the previous chapter and the production volume. You can choose from the dropdown menu between estimated volume ranges, units, and periods, whether weekly, daily, or annually.
Please note!
- Our system only requires estimated volumes. You can always log in and change your selections.
- If you want to change the units, read our article How to change your measurement systems and units? All selected measurement systems are applied for all your business locations under the company.

- Once you have filled all out, press SAVE and move to the next step.
- Ingredients section is the step where you list down all the ingredients you use for making food and products.
- For example, if you use meat, choose the right food temperature in reception.
- If you're a reseller, mark the products you use in your store.
- Analyses section is where you show the analyses you perform in your business. Please contact your inspector or food safety consultant to determine which analyses you need to perform.
- In case you don't know, select Not done, and you can find it out after the inspection.
- Flowchart is a graphical representation of your food business processes, starting from buying raw materials to serving or selling your finished products.
- After clicking on Create, the HACCP plan builder generates a flow chart automatically according to your selected process steps.
- You'll see a flowchart/flow diagram that is created automatically according to the process steps you selected previously.
- Please take a look at your flowchart carefully after creating it. The flowchart must be according to your company's actual situation.
Please note!

- Sometimes, you need to create separate flowcharts for each product group, e.g., main courses, desserts, marinated products, etc.
- In our software, you can create and add as many flowcharts as you need to your HACCP Plan.
- Location and floor plans are usually asked by your inspector in case you are a production company.
- If you don't need them, leave the button unswitched.
- It takes only a few minutes to create your location plan. Just find the correct address, and our software will find locate your business in google maps easily.

Drag and drop your points to their correct positions on the plan.

- Your HACCP Plan is ready when you have reviewed all the steps and all selections are green.
- Press CONFIRM HACCP Plan when you've finished.
- Under SUMMARY, you will see your Hazards summary. Filter them by Hazard level (for example, only CCPs) or a section.

- MANAGE selection brings you back to the beginning to edit the main questions you started with when creating your HACCP Plan.
- DOWNLOAD selection gives you a pdf file of your HACCP Plan.

- HACCP plan PDF download is available with an annual subscription plan -> Basic, Standard, Professional, or Enterprise package.
